We are all set to witness the beginning of a new era of Bugatti hypercars in 2024. The automaker is finally phasing out the legendary 8.0-liter W16 engine that powered the Veyron since 2005 and then featured in the Chiron in its upgraded form. With its next-gen hypercar, Bugatti is gearing up to set new benchmarks.
The Chiron successor is likely to make its global debut sometime between March and June 2024. Bugatti has been showcasing the car to prospective clients since late last year. However, concrete information about the new model has been hard to come by.
There has been internet chatter about a V16 engine, and for the first time, we can confirm that these rumors are indeed true. That’s right, the Chiron successor will be powered by a naturally aspirated V16 engine that revs to 9000 rpm! The motor has been developed by Cosworth, who also built the screaming V12s powering the Aston Martin Valkyrie and GMA T.50.
This masterpiece will be a “zenith of engine design and engineering”.
Sources say that the 8.3-liter V16 will be paired with three electric motors, with the internal combustion engine developing 1000 hp, while the electric motors will add another 800 hp, for a total of 1800 hp.

We are likely to see a different iteration of Bugatti’s iconic horseshoe grille on the upcoming hypercar. A wider grille will adorn the front, while the rear design is being described as “McLaren P1-ish”.
The interior of the next-gen Bugatti hypercar will be more like an expensive mechanical Swiss timepiece than an Apple Watch. We might see a blend of modern tech with Pagani-like timeless design.
Sources have told us that Bugatti plans to build fewer units of the new-gen hypercar. It is estimated that less than 300 cars will be built – a low number compared to the 450 Veyrons and 500 Chirons that have rolled out of the Molsheim factory. Initially, only those customers who own a Veyron or Chiron will be able to order one. It will not only make the new model super exclusive but will also boost the values of its predecessors.
