Peaky Blinders Creator Announces Next Series That’s Tailor Made to Put Ireland on Top

Despite the promise of a Peaky Blinders movie with Cillian Murphy, creator Steven Knight is currently working on another epic project. Knight has announced his new collaboration with Netflix, a series that will explore the dynamics within the Guinness Family. The new series is titled House of Guinness, and the episodes will be directed by Tom Shankland and Mounia Akl. Fans, especially the Irish ones, are excited to see the story set in the background of Ireland.

Netflix has confirmed an eight-episode first season for Steven Knight’s House of Guinness. The series will be produced by Knight, Karen Wilson, Elinor Day, and Martin Haines. The casting for the film is yet to be announced. Knight shared in a press release that he was always fascinated by the stories of the wealthy and influential Guinness dynasty. According to Netflix’s plot synopsis for the series, the story will be set in 19th-century Dublin and New York. The series begins after the death of Benjamin Guinness and explores the characters of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben. The story will be the interaction of these four central characters and other Dublin-based characters with their expanding brewery business.

As soon as the announcement was made, many fans took to X to share their expectations for the new series. A few predicted that the Irish fans, who are already on cloud nine with Cillian Murphy‘s Oscar win for Oppenheimer, would definitely be excited about this new project. One of the most anticipated projects of Cillian Murphy after Oppenheimer is his Peaky Blinders movie, which was promised soon after the end of the series by Steven Knight. The creator confirmed the film during his 2022 appearance on the Heart Breakfast show. Knight shared that the writing was almost finished and filming was expected to begin shortly after.

The source added that Steven Knight was still in the process of writing the script.
