After being scared by a car, the little pup ran under the canal and became trapped in the dark tunnel. He couldn’t move until a police officer arrived to help her.
Officer Joe Brazil is always willing to help; in fact, he didn’t hesitate to rescue a helpless dog.
Peggy Edwards posted her story on Facebook on May 2, 2016, and it quickly became a hit. The story was heartwarming and touched our hearts.
Joe, a police officer from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was important to her story. It all started when a vehicle scared a beautiful but anxious little Yorkshire terrier.
And the first thing the dog did was run away towards a tunnel.
“On April 30, a little dog was running free and was scared by a passing car. He crashed into a tunnel through which a local stream runs. “She was trapped about 20-25 feet away and clinging to the edge,” Peggy began to tell the story on her Facebook page.
His instincts told him that he had to help the little dog, but he was afraid.
He was afraid of scaring the poor dog, which would cause him to retreat deeper into the tunnel. That’s when he had an inspiration.
He quickly called the Woonsocket Police Department for help, and he was not disappointed.
Officer Joe Brazil arrived a few minutes later and was eager to help.
Peggy then recounted what had happened, and the brave officer was eager to help.
“He dove in without hesitation twice and came out with a wet and scared little dog. Lucky dog, he’s a great guy. “We’re just thrilled he was able to save the little girl,” Peggy added.
The kind officer took off his shoes and socks before entering the tunnel to save the little dog.
WJAR NBC10 was able to contact the officer, who stated, “As I got closer, I could see Cece holding on to the side and shaking.” “(The dog) was extremely, very scared.”
Given the dog’s great agitation, the officer took additional precautions to not scare her further into the tunnel.
What he did next was amazing!
He let Cece sniff his fingers a little more inside the tunnel, until she was close enough to the scared dog, and then he picked her up!
“It almost seemed like she was saying thank you,” Brazil told WJAR NBC10. “She seemed to know I was there to help her.”
The beautiful dog seems so loving and grateful to the handsome officer who saved her, as seen in the photo.
After all, this dog is not a stray. She came from a lovely home. She gives the name of this adorable dog, according to another interview with WJAR NBC10.
Cece’s owner, Michelle Perez, was thrilled that her dog had been found. According to her story, her mother-in-law had given her the beautiful puppy, but she ran away the next day!
“She’s only five months old,” Perez said in an interview. “I couldn’t sleep. All I did was drive and call her.”
Cece was rescued from the scary tunnel and reunited with her owner thanks to Peggy Edwards and caring Officer Joe Brazil. We are all so glad that Cece was saved and returned to her human!
