Afro Nation Portugal 2024: Nicki Minaj joins line-up alongside Asake, J Hus and Tyla

US megastar Nicki Minaj is the latest artist to be confirmed as a headliner for Portugal’s 2024 Afro Nation festival.

The queen of rap will join a host of other mega-stars already confirmed to hit the stage including Asake, J Hus, Rema and Tyla.

The world’s biggest Afrobeats festival will return to the coast of Portimão in the Algarve this summer from June 26 to 28, celebrating the best across the genre as well as in reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, amapiano, soca and other black-led musical genres.

The three-day festival has more than doubled in size over the first three events and has become a global phenomenon, helping to propel now-global stars like Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido to headline status on major mainstream festival line-ups around the world.

Ninho, Omah Lay, Major League DJZ, Uncle Waffles and Focalistic as well as a host of other artists will be performing at this year’s festival.

When is Afro Nation Portugal 2024?

Afro Nation Portugal 2024 will take place from June 26 to 28 on Praia Da Rocha Beach, Portimão, the Algarve.

Praia Da Rocha is one of the most popular beaches in the Algarve and is about an hour’s drive from Faro airport.

Who is performing at Afro Nation?

This year’s Afro Nation festival will feature an impressive array of artists, including US rap royalty Nicki Minaj, Nigerian Afro beats giant Asake, east London rap legend J Hus and viral South African singer Tyla.

Continuing the trend of Nigerian talent, Afrobeats star Rema, frequently referred to as the “golden child” of Nigeria’s music industry, will also grace the stage.
