An All-Star Cast for ‘Bluey’ featuring Johnny Depp, Chris Pratt, Dwayne Johnson, Taylor Swift, and Jon Hamm: It Doesn’t Get Better Than This!

The creator, animators, and producers of Bluey are reportedly on hiatus right now, perhaps resting up and recharging before returning to the studio to begin the work of bringing fans brand-new episodes in the fourth season of the insanely popular animated children’s series.

Right now, the only guarantee fans have about the series from ABC Kids and BBC Studios is related to the debut of a special extended-length episode of the children’s show, set to be released sometime this year. The new episode, titled “The Sign,” is said to tell a story that will have fans experiencing all the feels, and it will also feature some brand-new celebrity guest voice actors. Here are just a few stars that will fit the bill perfectly.

Disney Fans Know What They Like (and What They Don’t)

Most diehard Disney fans have some pretty strong opinions, likes, dislikes, preferences, and aversions, and they don’t mind telling you so. When it comes to bright ideas related to our favorite Disney films and our favorite rides and attractions at Disney World and Disneyland, we never come up short.

But leave it to Disney to secure the broadcasting rights to a wildly popular children’s series, the fan following for which knows no boundaries and is comprised of preschoolers, school-aged children, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and people without children–and you have all the makings for a massive upheaval and/or celebration each time something new is added to the series and every time the creators tease a new episode, as with one of the newest offerings on Disney+, Disney Junior, and Disney Channel: the children’s series Bluey.

Diehard Disney fans who double as diehard Bluey fans–now there’s a mash-up of epic proportions.

Bluey follows the adventures of daily life with the Heeler family: seven-year-old Bluey, her younger sister Bingo, and her mum and dad, Chilli and Bandit. The series features episodes that are seven to nine minutes in duration but pack those minutes full of laughs, scenarios to which we can relate 100%, and an unintentional call to action that has us wanting to be better parents, better friends, and better humans.

Things Fans Wish Were Different About ‘Bluey’

Diehard Disney fans know what they like and what they don’t like–but they don’t stop there.

It isn’t enough to have mere preferences and aversions when it comes to Disney fandom, whether the topic is Disney theme park resorts, attractions, and experiences inside Disney’s theme parks, Disney’s classic and modern-day films, or Disney’s animated and streaming offerings. If we don’t like something about a Disney film, a Disney theme park, an attraction, or a series on Disney+, most of us also already have a laundry list of things we think Disney could/should do to rectify the scenario.

Here’s just one example of such an aversion and the corresponding list of solutions: Disney World is Reimagining the Wrong Attraction at Magic Kingdom

But as diehard fans, the opposite is true, too: if we really love something, we won’t pretend that we don’t–and we won’t waste time dreaming up alternate approaches, additions, or deletions to the things that Disney offers us that we love.

The same is true of the animated children’s series Bluey. The wildly popular animated children’s show is so good that it has amassed an enormous fan following among not only its target group–preschool-aged children–but among older children, parents, and other adults, including aunts, uncles, grandparents, and those without children as well.

Fans of the adorable series about the Heeler family would be hard-pressed to find something in the series about which to complain–and an even harder time trying to determine any potential changes that need to be made in the show. It’s just that good

Bluey makes us laugh, and it makes us cry. It makes us want to slow down and enjoy these days of wonder, and it gingerly nudges us to take a look inside. The stories in the series evoke emotions that some of us haven’t felt in a long time and inspire us to embrace hope and regain our joy in the simplicity of the everyday.

It would be impossible to make a list of things that we wish Joe Brumm, the Australian animator who created the Bluey series, should change about the show. Well–except for perhaps making each episode just a little longer. We can’t seem to get enough of Bluey and her family, the Grannies, Rita and Janet, Calypso and the kids at Bluey’s school, or Cousin Muffin’s antics.

We love everything about Bluey.

But then again, if we’re honest, we do have just a few suggestions as they pertain to the celebrity guest actors who lend their voices to various characters in the series.

More Celebrities Voice Actors, Please. (Specifically These)

In addition to regular voice actor David McCormack as the voice of Bandit and voice actress Melanie Zanetti as the voice of Chilli, Bluey has featured many celebrity guest actors since the series debuted in 2018, but the use of celebrity guests is never overdone or obnoxious in the series.

The list of celebrities who’ve been lucky enough to be part of the beloved children’s series continues to grow and includes actor and songwriter Lin Manuel MirandaStar Wars‘ Queen Amidala herself, Natalie Portman, actresses Eva Mendes and Rose Byrne, Australian comedian and cartoonist Sam Cotton, Australian musician Darren Hanlon, conservationist and son of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, Robert Irwin, Dan Brumm, brother of Bluey creator Joe Brumm, Megan Washington, and others.

Because we love the idea of celebrity guest voice actors in episodes of Bluey and would like to hear more, we’ve begun our own list of celebrities that we think would be perfect for embracing new canine characters in episodes of the series.

We’re thinking singer/songwriter Taylor Swift, former WWE champion and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the legendary Johnny Depp, funny girl and star voice actress in Pixar’s Inside Out and Inside Out 2, Amy Poehler and/or Tina Fey, Super Bowl LVIII MVP Patrick Mahomes, and Marvel actor Chris Pratt would be great additions to the Bluey series.

We wouldn’t mind hearing songwriter Lizzo lend her talents to the series, and actor Jon Hamm would be a delicious choice of voice actors as well.

We’re holding onto our list and continually adding to it–just in case a representative from Ludo Studio reaches out.
