Cardi B released her version of the music video for her and FendiDa Rappa’s song Point Me 2 on Monday.
The 30-year-old rapper took to Instagram to share a short excerpt of the ‘Cardi’s Cut’ rendition of her collaboration with the up-and-coming underground artist from Chicago.
In her caption, the hitmaker — who celebrated her daughter Kulture’s fifth birthday with her husband, Offset, amid cheating allegations — shared some of her lyrics from her verse in the catchy track.
‘I’m makin’ cash, who shakin’ a**? I’m really movin’ s***,’ she wrote before announcing the new video was available on YouTube.
‘CARDI’S VERSION of the Point Me 2 video is OUT NOW. I’m on my UNCUT s***,’ the WAP hitmaker added.
Unlike the short sequence which started with Rappa entering a massage parlor full of beautiful women, Cardi’s version began with her talking directly into the camera and emphasizing: ‘This gon’ be the song of the summer, on God.’
Upon initial reaction, the visual accompaniment featured extra editing with tighter cuts and faster pacing with the bouncy beat.
The visualizer had the same sequencing and showed the two rappers in all the same outfits.
At one point, Rappa donned a striking metallic silver ensemble with a long-sleeve top underneath a puffer vest and the matching pants.
She later changed into a basketball jersey to rap with Cardi in front of a crowd of scantily-clad partygoers.
Cardi — who climbed atop a car at one point — donned an aquamarine, figure-hugging ensemble and rocked the bold blue money pieces in her hair.
Later, the duo changed into pink ensembles as they took the party indoors.
Cardi even modeled half pastel pink and half hot pink curls to match her outfit.
She sported a cheeky velvet one-piece while Rappa donned a metallic, sleeveless button-down and retro sunglasses.
In the racy scene, there were girls in the back dancing in bikinis while Cardi showed off the colorful tattoos adorning her backside and twerked for the camera.
For an added creative and cool touch, however, the video also featured dynamic edits with VHS filters and eye-catching visual effects.
The racy music video was made more energetic and attention-grabbing with the additional rapid cuts and creative transitions.
In between Rappa and Cardi rapping and giving an electric performance of their song, bright red text flashed across the screen to highlight specific lyrics.
Comparatively, Cardi’s Cut was also shorter by 25 seconds and totaled three minutes and 50 seconds as compared to the original four minutes and 15 seconds.
Originally, the two rappers released Point Me 2 and its accompanying music video earlier this month.
