Pagani has revealed its latest track hypercar based on the insane Huayra R. According to the company, the new Huayra R Evo open-top track hypercar pushes the boundaries of performance even further.
The Huayra R Evo features the ‘codalunga’ or long-tail design that is said to be more aerodynamically efficient. It has revised air ducts for optimal cooling, a larger front splitter with dual canards on either side and a double row of flicks on the hood.
The rear section has been extended by 190 mm, which now supports a fixed rear wing and a central stabilizing fin. The streamlined bodywork is crafted from Class A carbon fibre that was specially developed for the Pagani Utopia. It is 38% stiffer than standard carbon fibre and has the same weight.
Pagani claims a 45% increase in downforce and a 21% increase in aerodynamic efficiency. The hypercar has been designed to generate maximum downforce at 199 mph, while maintaining a 45%-55% distribution through the entire speed range. The open-top configuration increases both front and rear vertical load, boosting the total downforce by an additional 5%.
The Huayra R Evo is powered by the V12-R engine that delivers 900 hp @ 8750 rpm and 568 lb-ft of torque @ 5800-8200 rpm with a redline at 9200 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox via a racing clutch.
Pagani has introduced a new trumpet design, camshafts and an exhaust system. The car also gets an integrated heave damper – a third hydraulic element that separates the management of the car-body heights from the independent dampers of the four wheels. Braking is handled by self-ventilated carbon-ceramic discs paired with racing pads and the car rides on Pirelli P Zero slick tires measuring 280/680 R19 in the front and 345/725 R20 in the rear.
