Rescuers Were Shocked When They Found This Dog With A Broken Spine And Rushed Him To The Hospital

The ruthless acts of some people continue to shock us every day. Sadly, those who need help the most are often the main targets of their cruelty.

Sometimes we come across stories of abandoned, neglected or abused animals that break our hearts. This was the case when a kind-hearted person found a dog lying desperately on the street.

This good Samaritan gave the dog water and food to survive, but when he could do no more, he called a rescuer who arrived quickly.

Desperate State

Seeing the dog’s photo, the rescuer knew she had to act quickly. When she arrived, she found the dog under a box that the kind person had put up to protect him from the sun. His back legs were paralyzed and he couldn’t walk properly.

Although she was shocked by the scene, the rescuer did not have much time to despair, as the dog was in a critical condition. She quickly moved him to her car and headed to the veterinary clinic.

At the clinic, the vet determined that the dog weighed only 1.6 kg, which was well below normal. However, what was worse was that the poor dog had a broken spine and needed urgent surgery.

Although it was a complicated medical procedure, the surgery went well. The little canine hero, who was named General, had a difficult start to his recovery, but he showed great courage and resilience.

As part of his recovery, General had to undergo several medical treatments and another minor surgery. However, he proved to be a dog with a big heart and overcame all difficulties with a smile.

After 18 Days, She Finally Left the Hospital and Headed to a Foster Home

A new beginning

Thanks to the mobile volunteer, General was safely transported to the foster home. He enjoyed a few happy days with his loving rescuer, but he didn’t stay with him for long. A family fell in love with him and decided to adopt him.

Despite his disability and the fact that he couldn’t walk properly, General was welcomed with open arms into his new home. His new favorite humans adored him, and his canine brothers and sisters gladly accepted him as well.

Even though General had trouble getting around, he didn’t stop spreading his positive energy and playing with his canine friends and favorite toys. His new family was in awe of General’s bright spirit, and that motivated them to do everything they could to help him walk.

Even though they knew it would be very difficult, they hoped to be able to offer him some kind of therapy that would help him walk on his own like any other dog.

After the rehabilitation consultation, the vet recommended trying stem cell therapy. They followed his advice and made an appointment at a nearby clinic with a doctor who was an expert in such medical procedures.

Although the doctor believed that the chances of General walking again were very low, they did not want to give up. Unfortunately, after the surgery, the doctor’s predictions came true.

However, General’s will to live and the positive energy he radiated despite all the adversities gave them hope and strength to carry on.

Enjoying every moment

It was now clear that General’s hind legs would remain paralyzed. Although it was difficult to accept, this did not discourage this brave dog from continuing to live life to the fullest.

Along the way, his family tried to make his life as easy as possible. In addition to showering him with love, they also helped him practice to make his life easier. To do this, they bought him a dog wheelchair, in which he could move around more easily.

After a few training sessions with his new “toy,” he was finally able to handle it successfully. The simple fact that he could move efficiently like any other dog made General a glory. In his eyes, he finally got his life back.

Neither the fact that he was left on the street, nor that someone mercilessly broke his spine, nor that he will remain paralyzed forever destroyed General’s will to live.

With the help of good souls, he overcame all obstacles and emerged victorious in the most difficult battle: the battle for life.
